The main EVO 2022 games have been announced
The Evolution Championship Series, or Evo as it is more commonly called, is the largest combat game event in the world, and this year’s programming has just been announced. There are no real surprises here (apart from the fact that Nintendo refuses the entrance of Super Smash Bros., if it even has a surprise), but the list is still rather stacked.
Here are the nine games that will be on the main stage at Evo 2022:
- Rue Fighter V
- Guilty equipment effort
- Mortal fight 11
- Tekken 7
- King of fighters XV
- Melty Blood: Lumina type
- Dragon Ball Fighter Z
- Granblue fantasy versus
- Skullgirls 2nd still
EVO 2022 will offer open tournaments for all these games and more. If you plan to compete, you can register via the official website. EVO 2022 will take place from 5 to 7 August in Las Vegas.
It should also be noted that it will be the first EVO in person since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic. It was also the first offline EVO since Sony acquired the event in March 2021 – the EVO last year being an online event only.
It’s not just tournaments, though. In many ways, EVO has become the “E3 fighting games” – a great time and place for publishers to reveal new games or provide important updates on existing projects. It is very likely that Street Fighter 6 recently announced will be in large, and we could even see highly widespread securities like Tekken 8 appear.
